This study investigated antimicrobial resistance in Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. and Vibrio spp. isolated from Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). Fish samples were obtained from farms, including their cultivation water and local markets in the Ubon Ratchathani and Chiang Rai provinces. Shrimp samples were collected from farms and their cultivation water in the Chanthaburi and Songkhla provinces from September 2017 to March 2018. The isolates were tested with Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Ceftriaxone, Ciprofloxacin, Colistinand Oxytetracycline. Antimicrobial resistance was determined using disc diffusion method. The result showed that E. coli isolated from fish from both provinces were susceptible to all tested antimicrobials agents. None of Salmonellaspp. isolated from fishfrom Chiang Rai was detected. The presence of Salmonella spp. isolated from fish from Ubon Ratchathani were resistant to Ampicillin, Amoxicillin and Oxytetracycline. None of Vibrio spp. isolated from fish from both provinces were detected. For shrimp samples, most of Vibriospp. isolated from shrimp farms from both provinces were resistant to Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Oxytetracycline, Ceftriaxone and Colistin. Salmonella spp. isolated from shrimp from Songkhla were resistant to Amoxicillin and Ampicillin while E. coli isolated from shrimp from Songkhla were resistant to Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Oxytetracycline and Ceftriaxone, butnone of the E. coli isolated from shrimp from Chanthaburi was detected. The study also determined the antimicrobial residue in fish, shrimp and their cultivation water. Mass spectrometry was used to detect the following antimicrobials residues: Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Ceftiofur, Ceftriaxone, Chlortetracycline, Colistin, Doxycycline, Enrofloxacin, Norfloxacin and Oxytetracycline. Enrofloxacin residue was found in fish sample obtained from a farm in Ubon Ratchathani; it contained 164.40 ug/kg,but the acceptable maximum residue limits (MRLs) should not exceed 100 ug/kg. The acceptable MRLs of Oxytetracycline residue should not exceed 100 ug/kg, but it was found in fish samples obtained from a farm in Chiang Rai; they contained 3,573.25 and 24,840.50 ug/kg. In addition, Doxycycline residue was found in fish sample obtained from a farm in Chiang Rai, containing 112.28 ug/kg, which was beyond the acceptable MRLs of 100 ug/kg. For shrimp samples, Oxytetracycline residue was found in the samples obtained from farm in Chanthaburi, which contained 357.84 and 373.82 ug/kg, and from a farm in Songkhla, which contained 203.07 ug/kg which was beyond the acceptable MRLs. Antimicrobial residue is beyond the MRLs because farmersuse antimicrobials to prevent disease and to treat disease during cultivation
