Only the experimental group received the elderly health promotion program activities enhancing self-efficacy, outcome expectation, and behavioral practices regarding dietary and exercise were emphasized. Main activities included group discussion and practices. Data were collected before and after the experiment using a structured interview questionnaire. Data were analyzed by frequency, percent, mean, and standard deviation. The effectiveness of the study intervention was tested by paired samples t-test and independent t-test. Results of the study revealed that after experimentation, the experimental group gained significantly higher mean scores of perceived self-efficacy, outcome expectation, and behavioral practices in relation to food consumption and exercise than that of the comparison group and before experimentation at p<0.05. While the average scores of the three aspects of the comparison group between before and after experimentation were not statistically different. It indicated that the program was effective in enhancing perceived self-efficacy, outcome expectation, and expected behavioral practices about dietary and exercise that should be applied for other elderly clubs or elderly groups.
