Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study of state and problems of teachers and parents in promoting preschoolers' friendships in Bangkok metropolis in making contact, maintaining positive relationships and negotiating conflict. The subjects were 286 preschool teachers and 392 preschool parents of preschool of school in Office of Bangkok Education Service Area 1, Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan and Commission on Higher Education. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, interviews and observation. Data was analysis by frequency, percentage and standard deviation. The findings were as follows: The teachers and parents promoted preschoolers' friendships in all three factors which were making contact, maintaining positive relationships and negotiating conflict. Besides the teachers and parents promoted preschoolers' friendships in two roles which were opportunity and supporting. 1) Opportunity: The teachers and parents found the problems on promoting preschoolers' friendships in all three factors and all two methods which were organizing activities and organizing environment. 2) Supporting: The teachers and parents found the problems on promoting preschoolers' friendships in all three factors as follows: 2.1) Making contact: the teachers and parents found the problems on promoting preschoolers' friendship in five methods which were encouraging, motivating, supporting, understanding and responding to the needs. Besides, the parents found one different problems from the teachers which was the method of modeling. 2.2) Maintaining positive relationships: The teachers and parents found the problems on promoting preschoolers' friendships in four methods which were supporting, encouraging, motivating, supporting and understanding. Besides, the parents found two different problems from the teachers which were the method of responding to the needs and modeling. 2.3) Negotiating conflict: The teachers and parents found the problems on promoting preschoolers' friendships in five methods which were encouraging, motivating, supporting, understanding, and modeling. Besides, the teachers found one different problem from the teachers which was the method of responding to the needs.
