Relationship between perceived organizational support with organizational commitment : the case study of employees of Siam commercial (PLC) head office
Abstract:
The objectives of this research are 1) to study individual aspect of Employees of Siam Commercial Bank
(PLC) Head Office which is affected by the perceived organizational support 2) to study individual aspect of
Employees of Siam Commercial Bank (PLC) Head Office which is affected by the organizational commitment
3) to study the level of perceived organizational support versus the level of organizational commitment of
Employees of Siam Commercial Bank (PLC) Head Office 4) to study the relationship between the perceived
organizational support and the organizational commitment of Employees of Siam Commercial Bank (PLC)
Head Office.
The sample size were 373 employees. The research was conducted through questionnaire survey. Data
collected through the survey were analyzed in percentage, means, standard deviation t-test, F-test, and
correlation.
Results of the study reveal that personal factors that influence the levels of perceived organizational
support are job position and salary level. Meanwhile, personal factors that influence levels of organizational
commitment are age, years of working with the bank, job position, and salary level. Mostly of Employees of
Siam Commercial Bank (PLC) Head Office has moderate perceived organizational support and organizational
commitment level. Employees of Siam Commercial Bank (PLC) Head Office with different level of perceived
organizational support will have different level of organizational commitment. Additionally, the study also
found that relationship between levels of perceived organizational support and organizational commitment is
positive and statistically significant at the 5-percent level.
