Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to study the amount of books that were acquired (bought) into the Burapha University Library during the fiscal year 2001and 2002 as well as the amount of books that were checked out. The relationship between the amount of acquisition (bought) and the amount of checked out books from the Library was also determined. Results of the study will be useful in selecting the books corresponding to the need of the users as well as the university curricula. Data were collected mainly from the registration book, data recorded form, and automated library system (cataloging module). Percentage, Mean, and Pearson's product moment correlation were used to analyze the data. Results of this study can be summarized as follow:1. The amount of acquired books and the amount of checked out books was positively correlated for both Thai and foreign language books, however, the negative correlation was also found. The positive correlations were found among books in Section 000: General Knowledge, Section 500: Natural Sciences, and Section 200: Religions.
