Abstract:
The purposes of this study were 1. to construct a Scientific Mind Scale for Matthayomsuksa 3 students 2. to investigate the quality of the Scale; and 3. to create the Local Norms of the Scientific Mind Scale for Matthayomsuksa 3 students based on the Basic Education Curriculum, 2544 B.E.
The sample groups of this study consisted of Matthayomsuksa 3 students, with a total number of 731 students in schools under the office of Ubon Ratchathani Education Region 3. The instruments used were the Rating Scale, based on Likert, consisting of 58 item Scale. The statistical procedures employed in the study were arithmetic mean, standard deviation, IOC, Discrimination index and Reliability.
The research finding were as follows:
1. The scale consisted of 58 items divided into 8 aspects; 9 items for learning motivation, 9 items for responsibility, determination and effort, 7 items for rationality, 8 items for discipline and prudence, 7 items for loyalty, 6 items for saving, 6 items for open-mindedness, and 6 items for creative working with others.
2. The Scale quality consisted of ;
2.1 Discrimination index ranged from .311 to .693 in the following aspects, learning motivation from .311 to .566, order and prudence from .368 to .532, loyalty/sincerity from .319 to .668, saving from .387 to .693, broad-mindedness from .556, and creative working others from .368 to .605
2.2 Reliability was .945 in the following aspects; enthusiasm reliability was .939, responsibility, determination and effort .933, rationality .935, discrimination and prudence .940, sincerity .941, saving .939, open-mindedness .042, creative working with others .937
3. The Local norm of the The Development of scientific Mind Scale for Mattayomsuksa 3 students ranged between T-score24 and T-score78
