THE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS COMPETENCY BASED ON THE FOUR PRINCIPLES OF BRAHMAVIHARA AND TEACHERS TEAMWORK EFFECTIVENESS IN SCHOOLS UNDER MUKDAHAN PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study school administrators
competency based on the Four Principles of Brahmavihara and teachers teamwork
effectiveness; 2) to investigate the relationship between school administrators
competency based on the Four Principles of Brahmavihara and teachers teamwork
effectiveness; (3) to determine the predictive power of school administrators
competency based on the Four Principles of Brahmavihara and teachers teamwork
effectiveness; and 4) to explore guidelines for developing school administrators
competency based on the Four Principles of Brahmavihara to enhance teachers
teamwork effectiveness. A mixed-methods research design was employed. The sample
consisted of 331 school administrators and teachers, while five key informants
participated in the qualitative phase. The research instruments included a questionnaire
with content validity between 0.60 to 1.00 and a reliability at 0.88, as well as a semi-
structured interview form. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean,
standard deviation, Pearsons product-moment correlation coefficient, multiple
regression analysis, and content analysis.
The research found that:
1) The overall level of school administrators competency based on the Four
Principles of Brahmavihara was high. When considered by dimension and ranked from
highest to lowest mean scores, the dimensions were teamwork, achievement orientation, self-development, and service mind, respectively. The overall teachers teamwork
effectiveness was also at a high level. When considered by dimension, the highest mean
scores were found in mutual trust, participation in operations, openness, networking, and
shared goals, respectively.
2) School administrators competency based on the Four Principles of
Brahmavihara had a strong positive relationship with teachers teamwork effectiveness
at a statistically significant level of .01.
3) The predictive analysis indicated that service-minded competency and
teamwork competency jointly predicted teachers teamwork effectiveness at the .01
level of statistical significance
4) The guidelines for developing School administrators competency based on
the Four Principles of Brahmavihara to enhance teachers teamwork effectiveness
included: (1) achievement orientation should be enhanced through the application of
the PDCA cycle in supervision and work development; (2) service-minded competency
should be strengthened through a service-oriented mindset and responsiveness to
stakeholders needs; (3) self-development should emphasize continuous learning and
professional growth; and (4) teamwork competency should promote participation and
collaboration among personnel to achieve organizational success.
