A STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL OF MANAGERIAL FACTORS INFLUENCING SCHOOLS AS HIGH PERFORMANCE ORGANIZATIONS UNDER THE LOEI NONG BUA LAMPHU SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE
Abstract:
This research aimed: (1) to examine the levels of administrative factors and the level of high-performance organization (HPO) in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office LoeiNong Bua Lamphu; and (2) to validate the causal relationship model of administrative factors influencing the HPO of these schools. The sample consisted of 650 school administrators and teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office LoeiNong Bua Lamphu in the 2025 academic year. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire with discrimination indices ranging from 0.53 to 0.87, item reliability between 0.83 and 0.88, and an overall reliability coefficient of 0.97.
The findings revealed that:
1. The causal factors influencing the HPO of schools were overall at the highest level. When considering each factor, all were also at the highest level. Ranked from highest to lowest mean scores, these factors were organizational culture, strategic leadership, and organizational member competency. The overall level of HPO in schools was also at the highest level. Among observed variables, process and resource management ranked highest, followed by personnel quality and academic leadership, while student-centered focus had the lowest mean score.
2. The structural equation model of administrative factors affecting the HPO of schools showed a good fit with the empirical data. The goodness-of-fit indices were as follows: Chi-square = 86.76, df = 68, p-value = 0.063 (> 0.05), χ²/df = 1.28 (< 2.00), RMSEA = 0.02, CFI = 1.00, and RMR = 0.01.
