Abstract:
This case study aimed at studying how Golden Medal Logistics Co., Ltd. used the Balanced Scorecard to convert its strategic plan into actions that can be measured and evaluated, thereby increasing efficiency of strategic management process. The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were defined according to the objectives of researcher. The data used in setting those KPIs was collected in a 37-week period. Since the Golden Medal Logistics is running the business under fierce competition and ever-changing environment, it needs an efficient tool to check its operational performance. The scope of this study is to use Balanced Scorecard to evaluate the company's internal business processes. After the KPIs was defined and the targeted growth of the company next year was set by management at 20%, the action plans were developed to support such business expansion. The processes would help management and employees understand how each activity related to each other and to the vision and mission of the company. The company will be continuously developed as the employees' technical skills are improved and the innovative information technology is applied, driving down the costs while increasing customers' satisfaction. However, this study applied only the Internal Business Process Perspective of Balanced Scorecard. To make it complete picture, the other three perspectives are needed.
