The Decision-Making Behavioral Patterns of School Administrators Influencing Effectiveness of Schools under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area Bangkok 2
Abstract:
This research aimed to study 1. the decision-making behavioral patterns of school administrators under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area Bangkok 2, 2. the effectiveness of schools under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area Bangkok 2 and 3, the decision-making behavioral patterns of school administrators influencing the effectiveness of schools under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area Bangkok 2. The sample was heads of learning subject groups or deputy heads of learning subject groups from each school, totalling 353 persons. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used in this research were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.
The research findings were as follows:
1. Regarding the decision-making behavioral patterns of school administrators, Pattern 4, where administrators consult teachers as a group and then make decisions by themselves, was the most frequently practiced. Pattern 1, where administrators use existing information and make decisions independently, was the least practiced.
2. The effectiveness of the Secondary Education Service Area Bangkok 2 was overall at a high level. The top three effective aspects, ranked from highest to lowest, were improvement in students academic achievement, teachers use of media, innovation and technology, and efficient resource allocation.
3. Concerning the decision-making behavioral patterns affecting school effectiveness, Pattern 5, where administrators allow all teachers in the school to participate in decision-making, had the highest predictive power.
