Abstract:
The purposes of this research are 1) to study the problems and obstacles of independent pop artists 2) to study the factors that affecting consumers' perceptions and how consumers choosing to listen to new independent pop artists in the Next Normal era. 3) To create a marketing development approach for new independent pop artists in the Next Normal era by conducting a research study in a mixed research method. The qualitative research data is obtained from in-depth interviews with 2 successful independent pop artists and 1 marketing specialist who has worked with many independent artists. The quantitative data, which is a specific selection, was obtained from exploratory data collection by collecting questionnaires from 400 audiences who listening to independent pop artists music by random selection method. By using ready-made tables of Taro Yamane, the researcher used statistics such as Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation. Then, analyzed the data by F-test (One-Way ANOVA) one-way analysis of variance. If differences are found the researcher will test for pairwise heterogeneity using Scheffe's Method. The study showed that the major problems and obstacles for most independent artists are Management that lacks understanding in marketing and lack of public relations planning. If they can do well, it will result in independent artists being able to work smoothly and meet their expectations. The factor in the matter of accessing the big media is very necessary to use the connection in the operation. Moreover, the competition in today's industry is highly competitive. Following this are the development of the independent artist market in the Next Normal era, which consisting of 1) Artist's communication development guideline is to communicate in terms of a clear "image" of new independent pop artists to create recognition among the target audience. 2) The way to create music is to analyze the expression of one's uniqueness. which is expressed through music in order to communicate to the audience. 3) The way to develop online channels is to bring yourself to a variety of online channels. By creating all channels and developing all channels to make it interesting and attractive. 4) The way to always bring yourself to meet with the audience is to find opportunities to perform live music. Or find opportunities that are good for independent pop artists to increase the chances of reaching audience groups
