Employers Satisfication Towareds the Competencies of Graduates from Bachelor of Information Studies Program, Burapha University, Grauated During Academic Years 2014 - 2017.
Abstract:
This research is a mixed method research, the purposes of this research were to study employers satisfaction through 5 Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education; ethics, moral and professional ethics, interpersonal skills and responsibility, knowledge, cognitive skills, and numerical analysis, communication and information technology skills and to compare employers satisfaction which classified by organizations type and job description. The samplings were divided into 2 groups: 1) quantitative group consist of 123 employers from civil, state enterprise, and private organizations and 2) qualitative group consist of 10 purposive employers. The research instruments were questionnaires and semi-structure in-depth interviews. The quantitative data were analyzed by Means and Standard Deviation, and content analysis was used for analyzing the qualitative data.
The results were as follows; 1) employers satisfaction through ethics and moral, interpersonal skills and responsibility, knowledge, cognitive skills, and numerical analysis, communication and information technology skills were at high level range from highest as follows; ethics, moral and professional ethics (4.41) interpersonal skills and responsibility (4.27) cognitive skills (3.92) knowledge (3.90) and numerical analysis, communication and information technology skills (3.82) 2) employers satisfaction comparison which classified by job description have statistically significant difference as follows; recreational activity at 0.44 and reading promotion activity at 0.026
The recommendation for desirable characteristics of undergraduates were required as follows; 1) the recommendation for competencies development were at the most range from highest; information technology, knowledge management, information management, and professional experience 2) the recommendation for courses/course descriptions development were at the most range from highest; information technology, digitalization and foreign languages and 3) the problems of undergraduates were at the most range from highest; information technology, communication, service mind and unpunctuality.
