The Guidelines for Developing Administrative Skills for School Administrators in the Digital Era under Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area Office 1
Abstract:
The present study aimed to; 1) investigate the current state, the desired state, and the needs of developing administrative skills of school administrators in the digital era under Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; 2) to examine, to design and to evaluate the guidelines of developing administrative skills for school administrators in the digital era under Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The research design is a mixed- method. The sample of the study was 310 comprised of 33 school administrators and 277 teachers in 76 schools under Roi Et Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The instruments used in the study consisted of the current state and desired state questionnaire, interview form, and guidelines evaluation form. The data were analyzed using frequency, mean, standard deviation, and Priority Needs Index (PNImodified).
The findings of the study revealed the following: 1) The current state of developing administrative skills of school administrators in the digital era overall was rated as high level. When considering each aspect according to the highest mean, it was analytical thinking and creative thinking aspect, human relations, communication, vision, and digital technology implementation aspect, respectively. 2) The desired state of developing administrative skills of school administrators in the digital era overall was rated as the highest level. When considering each aspect according to the highest mean, it was digital technology implementation aspect, communication, vision, human relations, and analytical thinking and creative thinking aspect, respectively. 3) According to evaluating the needs of development, it was at a high level. Additionally, considering each aspect, it was pointed out that the aspect with the highest development need was digital technology implementation aspect, vision, communication, human relations, and analytical thinking and creative thinking aspect, respectively. 4) There were 5 guidelines developing administrative skills of school administrators in the digital era. The result of appropriateness evaluation was rated as the highest level, and the feasibility was rated as highest. The guidelines revealed the following: 1) vision aspect comprised of strategic planning in line with the administration in the digital era, participation of vision determination, information the schools vision via any platform, adjustment the schools vision depending on transformation of the current state, 2) digital technology implementation aspect consisted of promotion staff of implementation innovation and digital technology to teaching and learning toward digital life and learning, supporting the implementation of digital technology in schools by preparing internet network, information communication technology tools, and software, being able to implement the information communication technology tools, commanding instantly and effectively, using information communication technology as a tools for storage online database, 3) communication aspect comprised of using variety means of communication and digital technology for communication via any application, being able to communicate, to listen, to speak, to read and to write both Thai and English effectively, using information communication technology as a tools for public relations of schools information, 4) analytical thinking and creative thinking aspect consisted of being able to think analytically and creatively in accordance with the development of technology, school administrators can think and analyze educational institution policies. to lead to practice to get information that helps understand the system, being able to think creatively for innovation and using soft power to promote the schools effectively, and 5) human relations aspect covered being a good relationship with others both in the real-life situation and online situation to achieve the digital empathy, being a good manner with proper action and friendly, being able to understand the differences and culture of each individual.
