Abstract:
This research aims at studying the evolution, the importance throughout the problems about weaving of Thai Song Dum at Ban Don Thong and also the guiding the weaving preservation and enculturation. The result is found that Ban Don Thong inherited the weaving wisdom from Phetchaburi province to their ways of life. Since the economic and social changing has influenced to the community, the weaving has become disappearing gradually including the dressing of Thai Song Dum. The researcher has proposed the encultural process and reviving the weaving wisdom to three ways: 1) Guiding the encultural process to people in Ban Don Thong by providing the looms to new members. Moreover, it should have weaving quality and pricing control to many levels for monitoring the distribution. Also, it should have outsourcing for developing the distribution and adding value to the weaving products. These enhance the chance for using the Thai Song Dum clothing to the community. 2) Guiding the encultural process to the children at Ban Don Thong by teaching the weaving to the students at Ban Don Thong School. It should have the enhancing the children to wear the applied Thai Song Dum traditional dressing and developing with the teachers. 3) Guiding the encultural process by developing to learning space in the community: Ban Don Thong cultural center, the weaving group president in Moo 2 are and the Moo 1 village area where still preserves the original weaving
