Abstract:
This study employed a research and development approach which aimed to
1) study the current conditions and needs regarding the development of teamwork
model towards academic administration. In-depth interviews were conducted with six
school administrators and heads of academic departments. Additionally, data were
collected through a need assessment questionnaire from 388 school administrators
and teachers, selected through a stratified random sampling technique, 2) develop a
teamwork model towards academic administration, which was reviewed and validated
by three experts, and 3) implement the developed model with 24 teachers and
evaluate its quality based on Stufflebeams model. The research instruments included
a knowledge test, a teamwork performance assessment form, and a satisfaction
questionnaire. Data analysis employed mean, standard deviation, and the Modified
Priority Needs Index (PNIModified)
The research showed that 1) the current situation indicated that personnel
lacked a clear understanding of their roles and planning. The most critical need was
communication (PNIModified = 0.258), followed by interaction (PNIModified = 0.256), and
mutual respect (PNIModified = 0.255), 2) the teamwork model for academic
administration consisted of six components: principles and rationale, objectives,
procedures, scope of work, evaluation guidelines, and successful conditions, 3) the
implementation of the model showed that teachers had significantly higher
knowledge and teamwork skills after using the model, at the .05 level of statistical
significance. The models quality was confirmed through both quantitative and
qualitative analyses. In terms of utility, the model benefited all stakeholders.
Regarding appropriateness, the model supported the development of teamwork skills,
and in terms of feasibility, the model was found to be highly practical.
