Abstract:
Objectives of this thesis were: 1. To study the factors affecting people's political participation in the local executive election of Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province, 2. To study Itthipada 4 principles on the factors affecting people's political participation in the local executive election of Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization 3. To study problems, obstacles and suggestions of factors affecting people's political participation in the local executive election of Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization. Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province, conducted with the mixed methods. The quantitative research using exploratory method collected data from the samples who were voters at Rong Phong Sub-District, Muang Phrae District, Phrae Province, and Nam Cham Sub-District, Muang Phrae District, Phrae Province who were 18 years of age and older, obtained 368 samples, derived from total population of 4,555 people, analyzing the data by determining the frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation. Hypotheses test by t-test, F-test, and Multiple Regression Analysis. Qualitative Research collected data from 10 key informants, purposefully selected with an in-depth interview method and analyzed data by descriptive interpretation, presented as in essay form and a table enumerating the frequency of key informants to support quantitative data.
The results showed that:
1.Factors affecting the peoples political participation in the of local executives election, Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province as a whole was at middle level (x̄ =3.34, S.D.=0.31). Considering on a aspect-by-aspect basis, the aspect with the highest average aspects were socioeconomic factors (x̄=3.40, S.D.=0.39), followed by personal factors being at the middle level (x̄=3.38, S.D.=0.40), and the aspect with lowest average were factors related to political situations being at the middle level (x̄=3.25, S.D.=0.41). The respondents with different personal factors in age, level of education, occupation, and income had different opinions on factors affecting the peoples political participation in the election of local executives, Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province with statistically significant level at 0.05, thus accepting the set hypothesis. People of different genders had not had different opinions on factors affecting the peoples political participation in the election of local executives, Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province. Thus, rejecting the set hypothesis.
2. The results of Itthipada 4 affected the political participation of the people in the election of local executives of the Rong Phong Sub-district Administrative Organization, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province were found that The Ithipada 4 principle affected the political participation of the people in the election of local executives of the Rong Fong Subdistrict Administrative Organization. Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province at 46.00 percent (R2=0.46) From hypothesis tests, at least one aspect of it, Chitta, satisfaction with that doing. affected the peoples political participation the most with Regression Concession (β) = 0.279. Thus, hypothesis set forth was accepted.
3. Problems and obstacles of factors affecting the peoples political participation in the election of local executives, Rong Phong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province were found that the public had little understanding of the role of citizenship in political participation. Most of them liked personal popularity, independence, freedom of information exchange, political information, and the need for livelihoods so the exercise of right to vote in local election was limited. Suggestions: There should be encouraging the public to have an understanding of local executive elections, creating awareness processes public awareness. There should promote informational publicity, participation in elections, access to personal media, providing opportunities for people to express their political opinions appropriately and encouraging people to join groups to promote political participation at the local level.
