Abstract:
Objectives of this research were: 1. To study the level of management according to the 5S. principle of the monasteries, 2. compare monks opinions on the management according to the 5Ss principle of the monasteries, and 3. To present management guidelines according to the principles of 5 Ss of monasteries at Muang District, Nakhon Nayok Province The research methodology was the mixed methods. The quantitative research, data were collected by questionnaires with a confidence value of 0.909 from. 227 samples who were monks at Muang District. The data were analyzed using a ready-made social science program using descriptive statistics, percentages, averages, standard deviations, statistics, and inferential statistics, t-test, f-values, The qualitative research, data were collected from 10 key informants by in-depth interviewing w ith key data providers.analyzed using descriptive content analysis techniques.
The results showed that:
1. The level of m anagem ent according to the 5 S.s principle of monasteries at Muang District, Nakhon Nayok Province, by overall, was at a high level (x̅ =4.34, S.D.=0.37) and when considered each aspect on a case-by-case basis, it was found that the aspect with the highest average value was the Convenience aspect (x̅=4.69, S.D.=0.34), followed by Clean-up (x̅=4.62, S.D.=0.36). The aspect with the lowest average value was Building Discipline (x̅=4.08, S.D.=0.66).
2. Results of the monks opinions comparison on the management according to the 5Ss principles, classified bypersonal factors, it was found that the monks with different ages, Lents and Dharma education had different opinions on the management according to the 5 S. principle of monasteries at Muang District, Nakhon Nayok Province at statistically significant level of 0.05.accepted the set hypothesis. As for monks with different general education did not have different opinions on the management according to the 5 S. principles of monasteries at Muang District, Nakhon Nayok Province. Therefore, the set research hypothesis was rejected.
3. The management guidelines according to the 5 S. principles of monasteries at Muang District, Nakhon Nayok Province were found that the 4M management principles, namely, Man, Money,Materials and Management, These 4M management principle promoted the management approach according to the 5 S. principles of monasteries at Muang District, Nakhon Nayok Province for more effectively in all 4 aspects as follows: 1) Sasang,Clean-up, including surveying, classifying things in categories. Knowledge and understanding of the 5 S. principles, it is recommended that monks in the monasteries participate in making decisions in the process of Clean-up, 2) Convenience; arrange convenience by the overall areas in good order, Keep documents and materials well organized in categories. 3) Clean aspect, which includes setting rules for maintaining cleanliness with clear penalties. Clean the device after each use. 4) Standard setting, including creating standards, raising awareness of work, appointing the work of the organization. Personnel can learn to work creatively
