Abstract: การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพุทธสุนทรียศาสตร์ดังที่สะท้อนในวรรณกรรม เรื่อง ทางนฤพาน ของดังตฤณ โดยเริ่มทำการศึกษาพุทธสุนทรียศาสตร์และศึกษางานวรรณกรรม เรื่อง ทางนฤพาน แล้วจึงศึกษาวิเคราะห์พุทธสุนทรียศาสตร์ดังที่สะท้อนในวรรณกรรมเรื่อง ทางนฤพาน ของดังตฤณ โดยการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ แหล่งข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ คัมภีร์พระไตรปิฎกวรรณกรรมเรื่องทางนฤพาน และรวมถึงเอกสารและงานวิจัยต่างๆที่เกี่ยวข้อง ผลการศึกษาค้นคว้าสรุปได้ว่า สุนทรียศาสตร์คือปรัชญาความงาม ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เกี่ยวข้องกับธรรมชาติและคุณค่าของศิลปะ ส่วนพุทธสุนทรียศาสตร์ คือ ปรัชญาความงามตามแนวทางพระพุทธศาสนา ความงามจากหลักธรรมคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้า ประกอบด้วย ความงาม ภายนอก อันได้แก่ รูปลักษณ์และการประพฤติภายใต้ศีลหรือคำสอนทางพระพุทธศาสนา ส่วนความงามภายใน ได้แก่ สมาธิและปัญญา เกิดจากการปฏิบัตินำไปสู่การพัฒนาทางด้านจิต และปัญญาช่วยในการค้นพบหนทางสู่พระนิพพาน ในส่วนของงานวรรณกรรมเรื่องทางนฤพาน เป็นนวนิยายที่ถ่ายทอดหลักธรรมคำสอนทางพระพุทธศาสนาตลอดจนการปฏิบัติและผลของการปฏิบัติตัวละคร ในวรรณกรรมยึดหลักคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้าในการดำเนินชีวิต ได้แก่ การรักษา ศีล สมาธิและเจริญปัญญานำมาซึ่งความงามในเบื้องต้น งามท่ามกลางและงามในท้ายที่สุด ความงามในเบื้องต้นสะท้อนรูปลักษณ์ที่ผุดผ่องงดงาม จิตใจที่ผ่องใส ขณะที่งามในท่ามกลาง นำมาซึ่งสมาธิและความสุข ณ. ปัจจุบัน ความงามในท้ายที่สุดถูกสะท้อนผ่านการเจริญปัญญาก่อเกิดการรู้แจ้ง เหล่านี้คือความงามจากความดีที่ได้ลงมือปฏิบัตินำมาซึ่งประโยชน์ต่อการดำเนินชีวิตและเป็นหนทางสู่พระนิพพาน The objective of the research is to study the Buddhist aesthetics as Reflected in Dungtrin’s the Road to Nirvana. Firstly, to study the Buddhist aesthetics and the literature of Dungtrin’s the Road to Nirvana. Subsequently, to analyse the Buddhist aesthetics as reflected in Dungtrin’s the Road to Nirvana by based analysis on qualitative research. The information sources used in the study are the Tripitaka, the Road to Nirvana, and included prevalent documents and researches. The results of the study concluded that the aesthetics is the philosophy of beauty, which is principally concerned with the nature and value of art. The Buddhist aesthetics is the philosophy of beauty towards the Buddhism. The aesthetics based on Dharma principle of Buddhism encompasses the beauty of an outer such as the physical body and the behaviors under precepts or the Buddhist doctrines, and the beauty of an inner included the concentration and wisdom, leading to mental and intellectual development, helping in discovery the path to attain Nirvana. Regarding to the literature of Dungtrin’s the Road to Nirvana is a novel that provides the Buddhist doctrine as well as practices and their results. The characters in such literature carry on the Buddha’s teaching for living, includingkeeping precepts, making meditation and strengthening intellect, providing initial-, intermediate- and highest-aesthetics. The initialaesthetics is reflected on the beautiful physical bodies and peaceful mind. While intermediateaesthetics urges concentration and pleasure in the present. The highest-aesthetics is reflected through strengthening intellect, brings about enlightenment. All of these are aesthetics from practices which bring on the advantages for living and lead to the road to Nirvana.
