Abstract:
The purposes of the research entitled A Review of the Application of ChatGPT in International Chinese Education from 2022 to 2023 were to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of ChatGPT in International Chinese Education from 2022 to 2023 by analyzing 30 relevant articles and to suggest the guidelines for the International Chinese Education in the future. The study found that applied research accounted for the highest proportion, reaching 40%, while theoretical researches and other studies accounted for 30%. In terms of advantages and disadvantages, the strengths of ChatGPT mainly included smooth interaction, the various knowledge resources, and the high degree of privacy, while its weaknesses included the intellectual property problem, misleading information, ethical and legal concerns, a lack of creativity, and the need for a big database. The research also revealed that current theoretical studies primarily focused on concepts, learning path construction, and the application of ChatGPT in the field of education as the foundation for subsequent research. However, practical applications still had the following issues such as data privacy, bias, and data accuracy, requiring solutions. To better harness the potential of ChatGPT, it was recommended to conduct in-depth research on its characteristics and functions, pay attention to issues in practical applications, and actively respond to changes. Simultaneously, it was essential to strengthen applied research, address technological limitations, and establish an evaluation system. Furthermore, relevant policies and governance mechanisms should be improved to ensure the rational use of ChatGPT in international Chinese education. Future research directions included enhancing ChatGPT's practical applications, addressing technological limitations, and establishing an evaluation system. From studying deeply into the characteristics and functions of ChatGPT, we could explore its optimal use cases in international Chinese education to improve teaching quality and achieve personalized learning.
