Intercultural task-based approach model to development English communication abilities and intercultural awareness of Thai undergrad students

Abstract: Results revealed that (1) efficiency of the IcTBA model was 77.00/76.13, and reached the standard criteria of 75/75. (2) Students who studied with the IcTBA model showed significantly higher development of English communication abilities in post-test 1, 2 and 3 than in the pre-test at the .05 level. (3) There was a significant difference in mean scores between the pre- and post-test in intercultural awareness self-assessment at a significance level of .05. Students also showed a higher level of intercultural awareness in learning logs. (4) Students had positive attitudes toward learning with the IcTBA model.
