Abstract:
The purpose of this study were to examine and compare the operating
conditions of professional learning communities in schools classified by education level,
work experience, and school size. The sample consisted of 310 administrators and teachers
and was obtained by multi-stage sampling. The study instrument was a questionnaire
concerning the operating condition of the professional learning community in school.
The index of item objective congruence was between 0.67 - 1.00, and reliability at 0.97.
Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, t-test independent, analysis of variance
(One-Way ANOVA).
The study findings were as follows:
1. The professional learning community operating condition in school overall
was at a high level (x̅ = 4.22, S.D. = 0.29). When considering each aspect, it was found
that the highest mean score was shared vision at a high level (x̅ = 4.29, S.D. = 0.34), followed
by shared leadership at a high level (x̅ = 4.27, S.D. = 0.31) and the lowest mean score was
professional learning and development at a high level (x̅ = 3.91, S.D. = 0.33), respectively.
2. The comparison of the operating conditions of the professional learning
community in schools of administrators and teachers classified by all levels of education,
work experience, and school size was similar.
