Abstract:
This descriptive research aimed to study the level of work life quality, explain personal factors, job characteristics, and organization atmosphere, and analyze the relationship between these factors with the work life quality of registered nurses at a private hospital in the Bangkok metropolitan. The population was 133 practicing registered nurses who had worked for more than a year. The sample consisted of 109 practicing registered nurses, calculated using Krejcie and Morgan's formula. The research instrument was a self-administered questionnaire for practicing registered nurses which tested for its reliability at 0.96. Data collection was conducted from February 22 - March 10, 2021. Descriptive statistical analysis included mean, percentage, standard deviation, and Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient. The results showed that the level of work life quality, job characteristics, and organization atmosphere were at a high level (x̄ = 3.86, 4.30, and 4.12 respectively). Working hours were significantly positive at a low level, associated with work life quality at 0.01 level (r = 0.259). Job characteristics were significantly positive at a moderate level, while organization atmosphere was significantly positive at a high level, related to work life quality at 0.01 level (r = 0.538 and 0.797), respectively. The findings of this research suggest that the management team should analyze the working process then plan to improve the work system to reduce the working time of nurses. The organization should provide opportunities for nurses to use their skills and knowledge appropriately. The management team should communicate performance evaluation criteria for the registered nurses as an incentive to work to improve work life quality.
