Innovative leadership influences the competitive advantage of multinational manufacturing organizations: a case study of a Consumer Products Manufacturing Company
Abstract:
The aim of this study is to explore the extent of innovative leadership among executives within multinational manufacturing firms, and to assess its influence on gaining competitive advantages. A sample group of 400 employees from a specific case study company participated, providing data through questionnaires. Data analysis involved both descriptive statistics, including percentages, means and standard deviation, and inferential statistics, such as multiple regression analysis.
Research findings revealed that overall eight dimensions of innovative leadership, executives exhibited a notably high level (x̄ = 4.357), with the element of fostering a conducive atmosphere for learning ranking highest (x̄ = 4.375). Similarly, the examination of competitive advantage within the organization showed an overall high level across all four dimensions (x̄ = 4.383), with the highest-ranking element being responsiveness to customer needs (x̄ = 4.394). Hypothesis testing demonstrated that innovative leadership among corporate executives, particularly in fostering innovative thinking skills, technical expertise, innovation, and adaptability, significantly influences on competitive advantage at a significance level of 0.05. Conversely, other dimensions showed no significant influence on competitive advantage at the same significance level.
