Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to investigate the marketing mix factors (4Ps) affecting buying decisions of used cars in Samut Sakhon Province. This research was qualitative research, using the interview method to collect data with a semi-structured interview outline. The interviewees were thirty customers who lived in Samut Sakhon Province for more than two years and were making decisions to buy used cars.
The research found that the 4Ps marketing mix factor that had the most impact on used car purchases was product, followed by price, distribution channels, and marketing promotion respectively. In terms of product, the quality materials of used cars, the strength of the exterior structure, interior safety system, efficient control system, and the aesthetics of the car affected the image of use, the reliability of standard production and brand loyalty. The price factors included the prices suitable for the quality of used cars and the buyers budget, interest rates and credit limits, and trustworthiness of financial institutions. The distribution channels included locations which are convenient for transportation and close to community areas, and online channels which are more effective in finding and selecting used cars. In terms of marketing promotion, price reductions, special discounts, freebies related to decorative accessories, marketing promotion activities, special events, and exhibitions all contributed to the decision to buy used cars.
