Abstract:
The objectives of the study were to; 1) investigate the current situation and
analyze the needs of empowerment for secondary school teachers in Amnatcharoen
province and 2) study the empowerment guidelines for secondary school teachers in
Amnatcharoen province. The sample of this study was 260 secondary school
teachers in Amnatcharoen province. The research instrument was a 5-level rating
scale questionnaire with a reliability at 0.82. The statistics used to analyze the data
were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research results were as follows:
1) The current situation of teacher empowerment, as an overall, was at a
high level. When evaluating each aspect, it was at a high level, ranking from high to
low averages with motivation promotion, internal organization communication,
teamwork and participation, and the work environment rating the lowest. As for the
expectation of teacher empowerment, as an overall, was at the highest level. When
classify by aspect, it was at the highest level, ranking from high to low averages;
these included delegation of responsibility and internal organization communication,
teamwork and participation, motivation promotion, and work environment
development.
2) The empowerment guidelines for secondary school teachers in
Amnatcharoen province can be as the following: delegation of responsibility,
participatory management, human resources development, internal organization
communication, motivation promotion, teamwork and participation, and work
environment development.
