Development of cloud learning environment using design thinking process and gamification concept to enhance library innovation ability of information studies students
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to: 1) study the learning environment on the cloud learning environment using design thinking process and gamification concept to enhance the library innovative ability of information studies students, 2) devlelop the learning environment on the cloud learning environment using design thinking process and gamification concept, 3) study the effects of the learning environment on the cloud learning environment using design thinking process and gamification concept, and 4) present the learning environment on the cloud learning environment using design thinking process and gamification concept. The sample group consisted of 24 experts, 388 undergraduate students majoring in Library and Information Science, and the experimental group consisted of 39 Information Studies students. The research instruments were: 1) a questionnaire on perceptions and requirements regarding the cloud learning enviroment, 2) interview form for experts, 3) an evaluation form for cloud learning environment model, 4) a prototype library innovation assessment form, and 5) a satisfaction assessment form regarding the cloud learning environment. The experimentation period lasted for eight weeks, and the data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.The research findings were as follows:1. The learning enviroment on the cloud learning environment using design thinking process and gamification concept to enhance library innovation abilities of information studies students consisted of six components: 1) Gamification concepts, 2) Data sources, 3) Learners, 4) Instructors, 5) Learning environment on the cloud, and 6) Evaluation. It involved five steps: 1) Empathy, 2) Define, 3) Ideate, 4) Prototype, and 5) Prototype assessment.2. The results from using the cloud learning environment indicated that: 1) the means post-test of library innovative ability was higher than pre-test score at .05 level of significance, and 2) the result of evaluating the library service innovation was at a high level for all groups.3. The learners were satisfied with the cloud learning environment at a high level.4. The validation of the cloud learning environment model by experts was at the most appropriate level.
