Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to study the relationship between top executive overconfidence and corporate performance of listed companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Before the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and during the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), this study used data from a total of 2070 companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. That is in the period 2017-2021 analyzed with a panel data regression model. The results of the study found that in normal times before the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, senior executives' overconfidence it has a relationship in the same direction with the performance of companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. But during the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the overconfidence of senior executives There is a relationship in the opposite direction with the performance of companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. For Granger Causality test between top executive overconfidence and corporate performance of listed companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, it was found that there is uni-directional relationship at a significance level of 0.01.
