Abstract:
The purposes of the research on "Guidelines for the Adaptation of Medium-Sized Hotel Business in Chiang Mai During the COVID-19 Crisis" were to study the impact and adaptation of medium-sized hotel business in Chiang Mai province during the COVID-19 crisis, leading to suitable suggestions for adaptive strategies for medium-sized hotels during Future epidemic crises. This study employs qualitative research to interviews with six medium-sized hotel entrepreneurs in Chiang Mai province. The study found that during the COVID-19 crisis, hotels had an economic impact that resulted in a more than 70 percent drop in hotel revenue and some hotels increased costs by purchasing cleaning supplies to prevent COVID-19. As for the social impact section, employees did not have income, and this led to their resignation. From the above effects, it led to all four aspects of adaptation, namely: (1) Marketing Aspect: to increase revenue generation channels and increase revenue for the hotel, such as, selling room vouchers, Food delivery, and transforming the hotel into a hospital. (2) Human resources aspect: the hotel has restructured its staff, adjusted the work style of employees, and adjusted the compensation to be in line with the hotel's income by paying half the salary of employees and paying only on the day of coming to work and adopt multiple-tasking practice. (3) Hotel Operations by temporarily closing the hotel a in reducing utility costs so (4) Financial Aspects: by reducing operating costs, such as the cost of raw materials for cooking at the hotel, etc.
