Abstract:
This study was an experiment testing wastewater from a shrimp farm using biological processes. The models consisted of completely mixed tanks and wetlands with Gracilaria sp as submerged plants. The Sequence batch System were divided into 2 sections according to the aeration time and the organic loading. Section 1 : The organic loading 72.64 gBOD/m3.d,aeration time 6 hours , the hydraulic retention time in wetlands 24 hour. Section 2 : The organic loading 108.96 gBOD/m3.d,aeration time 4 hours , the hydraulic retention Time in wetlands 24 hour. The results show that the efficiency of BOD removal was 58.10% , and 49.25% for the organic loading of 72.64 gBOD/m3.d , and 108.96 gBOD/m3.d respectively. It was also found that with the same organic loadings the efficiency of NH3-N removal was 57.46% , and 47.84 the efficiency of NO3-N removal was 42.24% , and 35.69% the efficiency of Suspended was 84.91% and 73.79% , respectively. In addition , it was found that efficiency of salinity removal was low.
