Abstract:
This thesis entitled Study of the Format of the Study of the Monastic Teaching School of Sangha School, Surin Province has three objectives: 1) to study the concepts and principles of Buddhist education administration; 2) to study the problems and obstacles in the Buddhist education management, and 3) to study the educational management model of Surin Provincial Sangha. This research is a qualitative research design. Data were collected using documentary study, and in-depth interviews with monks, community leaders, intellectual villagers, and scholars. Finally, to present the analytic descriptive.
The results of the study are as follows: -
1) Forms and methods of service for monastic affairs from Suthothai era, Ayutthaya era. Thonburi era and early Rattanakosin until now. Thai monastic administration also follows the Buddhas teachings, adhering primarily to the Dhamma discipline. Although nowadays, the Sangh will have a relationship between religious rule and the Kingdom. But relying on state power should be to create sanctity for the Dhamma, discipline, and purity of religion, while the country is developing internationally. The administration of ecclesiastical affairs in this modern era. There is a process of technological development and integration with the principle of Buddha Dhamma. The administration went to prosperity and with the law. Act and Regulations, the various regulations to support the Dhamma discipline, especially the monastic administration, have a very different form from the past.
2) The problems and obstacles in the Buddhist studies school of Sangha in Surin Province, namely: (2.1) the subject matter is too old, and the language used in the book is difficult to understand, especially the subject matter in the Dhamma department emphasis memorization rather than understanding. The lack of application is not suitable for the maturity of the learners. Therefore, the language used should be improved to be easy to understand. (2.2) Teaching method: emphasis on memorization, lack of application, and lack of critical thinking, therefore, the four skills should be emphasized: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. (2.3) Inadequate textbooks and textbooks religious subjects are insufficiency, inadequate, and damaged, teaching materials should be updated and equipped to meet the needs, and (2.4) Measurement and evaluation criteria of the Dhamma studies in monastic teaching schools often used memory measurement rather than comprehension and critical thinking.
3) The format of the study of the monastic teaching school of Sangha School, Surin province. There are three sections, namely: (3.1) Srivihancharoen temple, for the Pali Studies section: viz there is Pal grammar classes are available once the exam is taken, and no exam is required. The Dhammapada translation exam section has not changed. The Pali grammar test will be conducted quarterly (once for three months). Pali grammar in seven topics. The Dhammapda examination, as usual, is unchanged. The grammar test is taken every six months. Grammar collection test in seven topics.
