Abstract:
The objectives of this research are: 1) to study the state of teacher competency development in the New Normal, 2) to study the development methods of teacher competency development in the New Normal according to Buddhadhamma principles, and 3) to propose the guidelines of development methods of teacher competency development in the New Normal according to Buddhadhamma principles for Bang Pa-in School Rachanukroh 1 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. The mixed research methods were used in the study. The quantitative data were collected from 86 populations in the school by using questionnaires and analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews with 5 key-informants and analyzed by content analysis
The results of the research were as follows :
1. The state of teacher competency development in the New Normal of Bang Pa-in School Rachanukroh 1 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province was at a high level totally. The three descending order starts with being a good member and sacrifice for professional organization, followed by exchanging idea with leaders or subordinates in work, and having interpersonal skills to work with others. The least value was on supporting and participating in activity for ethics of teaching profession development.
2. The development methods of teacher competency development in the New Normal according to Buddhadhamma principles for Bang Pa-in School Rachanukroh 1 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province in 3 descending order are teamwork, self-development, and morality and code of ethics of teaching profession. Teachers have to strive in performing their duty with quality, have accountable work outcome, provide services in line with the requirement of recipients, adapt or adjust to situations or society, have discipline and responsibility in profession, create and develop curriculum, life skills, physical health, mental health, and discipline of learners, and build network for learning management.
3. The guidelines of development methods of teacher competency development in the New Normal according to Buddhadhamma principles for Bang Pa-in School Rachanukroh 1 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province are that: teachers have to strive to work with quality, try to find out new knowledge in academic and profession, provide suggestion, supervision, demonstration and knowledge to others, establish themselves in discipline and regulations, develop life skills and loving kindness, implant virtue and morality to students, analyze problems occurred in the classroom, have good skills in listening, speaking and questioning, have open-mind and flexibility to opinions, and share knowledge and solve problems together with others.""
