The relationship between corporate governance and corporate social and environmental responsibility disclosure on performance of companies listed in the stock exchange of Thailand
Abstract:
The research purposes were 1) to objectives the impact of corporate governance on the performance of companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand and 2) to study the impact of corporate social and environmental responsibility disclosure that affects the performance of companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The data from the companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand during the totaling 547 companies, was collected. The data was processed using a statistical software package. And analyzed with frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Descriptive statistic analysis and inferential statistic analysis were conducted by Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis. and multiple linear regression equation analysis. The study found that there was a statistically significant correlation between the independent variables and the dependent variables. As for the correlation between the independent variables. The study results found 1) that the independent variables were significantly correlated at the levels of 0.01 and 0.05. 2) Regarding to the multiple linear regression equation analysis, the six independent variables that were significantly corelated with the return on total assets (ROA), the return on equity (ROE), and the net profit margin (NPM) at level of 0.05 included the proportion of shares held by executives (Stock), the proportion of the independent Board of Directors (PID), the size of the Board of Directors (BSize), CEO duality (DualCEO), the proportion of the Board of Directors meeting attendance (PDBM), Social and environmental disclosure of the justice organizations (CSR). From the analysis, it was also found that controlling variable, namely the company's size (Size) and the ratio of the company's cash flow to total assets (CFO/TA), that affected the return on total assets (ROA), the return on equity. holding shares (ROE) and net profit margin (NPM) with statistical significance.
