Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to study the personal factors of Saowabha Vocational College students, and 2) to study the socio- economic factors of Saowabha Vocational College students. 3) To study the students' decision at Saowabha Vocational College to study the Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course. 4) To study the relationship between students' factors and their decision to study in Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course at Saowabha Vocational College. 5) To compare the level of importance of decision- making to study Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course of Saowabha Vocational College students classified by economic and social factors. The
population in this research is 107 students studying in Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course at Saowabha Vocational College. The research tool was a questionnaire. The statistics used to analyze the data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-squared analysis, and a one-way ANOVA.
The results showed that 1) most of the students are female with a cumulative GPA at the vocational certificate or high school level of about 3. 01 - 3. 50. The students had their original qualifications as a vocational certificate and are currently studying for a Vocational Diploma in the field of Food and Nutrition. 2) Most of the students' parents are self- employed and had a high school education or equivalent, earning about 10,001 - 15,000 baht and students have decided to study independently. 3) The students gave the overall importance to decision- making in choosing to study Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course at Saowabha Vocational College at a high level. When considering each aspect in descending order, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was the teachers, followed by instructional media and student development activities, and the least was the environment and facilities. 4) The student's factors correlated with the decision- making in choosing to study Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course at Saowabha Vocational College with statistical significance at the . 05 level. 5) For parents with different occupations, it was found that the importance of deciding to study the Vocational Diploma in Home Economics Course at Saowabha Vocational College was different. For the other aspects, it was found that there was no statistically significant difference at the .05 level.
