The relationships between work environment and happiness at work of personnel in private school business: a case study of Thidamaepra school, Surat Thani
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the work environment of the personnel in
Thidamaepra School, Surat Thani, 2) to study the happiness at work of the personnel in
Thidamaepra School, Surat Thani, and 3) to study factors of work environment affecting
happiness at work of personnel in Thidamaepra School, Surat Thani. The sample group used
in this research was academic practitioners and support operators of Thidamaepra School,
Surat Thani. 186 people were chosen by using the stratifed and purposive sampling method.
Questionnaires were used to collect the data, which were then processed by a social science
statistics program for data analysis. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and
Pearson Product Moment Correlation were employed to analyze the data.
The results of the research showed that 1) the opinion level towards the work
environment of personnel in Thidamaepra School, Surat Thani overall was at the highest level.
Sorting in order, it was found that two aspects were at the highest level namely, security and
safety, as well as working conditions. The other 3 aspects as high level, sorting in order,
were opportunities for career advancement, compensation and welfare, and other benefits
received. 2) The level of opinion on happiness at work overall was at the highest level. Classified
in order, it was found that all aspects were at the highest level namely good society, morality,
kindness, learning and good health. 3) An analysis of the relationships between factors of
work environment affecting happiness at work of personnel in Thidamaepra School, Surat
Thani revealed that the relationships between factors of work environment affected happiness at
work of personnel in Thidamaepra School, Surat Thani. The factors of the work environment
were correlated positivly with happiness at work of personnel in Thidamaepra School, Surat
Thani directly at a relatively high level in 4 areas, working conditions (.799**), welfare and other
benefits received (.737**), opportunities of career advancement (.700**), security and safety
(.640**), and one at the medium level was compensation (.597**) at a significant level of 0.01.
