Abstract:
Canine intraocular and adnexal lymphomas were reevaluated for lymphoma subtypes classification according to WHO criteria based on morphology and immunohistochemistry. CD3 and Pax5 were used as T-cell and B-cell markers, respectively. Twenty-five ocular lymphomas composed of thirteen intraocular lymphomas, seven retrobulbar lymphomas, three third eyelid lymphomas and two eyelid lymphomas were studied. Eight intraocular lymphomas were positive with Bcell marker, one intraocular lymphoma was positive with T-cell marker and the other four were positive with both B-cell and T-cell marker. Five retrobulbar lymphomas were positive with both B-cell and T-cell marker. Two retrobulbar lymphomas were positive with T-cell marker. For third eyelid lymphoma, one was positive with T-cell marker and two were positive with both B-cell and T-cell marker. Two eyelid lymphomas were positive with only T-cell marker. The majority of ocular lymphoma was B-cell phenotype especially in intraocular lymphoma. For lymphoma subtypes, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was predominated in intraocular and third eyelid lymphoma. T-cell rich B-cell lymphoma was the most common retrobulbar lymphoma subtype. Both eyelid lymphomas were identified as peripheral T-cell lymphoma. Relation of ocular lymphoma phenotypes/subtypes and overall survival times were also reviewed.
