Abstract:
The dissertation objectives are: 1) to study the state of promoting school well-being in schools under Samut Prakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2; 2) to develop a model for promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Primary Education Service Area 2; and 3) to propose a model for promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Primary Education Service Area 2. The research process was conducted in 3 steps: Step 1 was to study the state of promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Primary Education Service Area 2 by using a questionnaire. The data were collected from 310 samples consisting of administrators and teachers and analyzed by percentage, mean and standard deviation. Step 2 was to develop a model by interviewing 10 key-informants and using content analysis. And step 3 was to propose a model to a group discussion with 8 experts. The data were analyzed by content analysis.
The results of the study found that:
1. The state of promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Primary Education Service Area 2 was at a high level overall. The highest level started from environment well-being, followed by school well-being, community well-being, family well-being and student well-being respectively.
2. Development of a model for promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Primary Education Service Area 2 consists of: 1) Principle: (1) School administrators have a pattern in promoting school well-being based on Buddhadhamma (Bhavana 4), (2) Government sector, Ministry of Education and relevant agencies can apply the model of promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Samut Prakan Primary Education Service Area 2 to other schools effectively. 2) Objective: (1) To be a guideline for school administrators to have a model for promoting well-being by applying it to the administration of schools in the 21st century. (2) Ministry of Education and related agencies have a model for further improvement of well-being in schools for academic achievement and active learning; 3) Promotion processes: (1) promoting school well-being is to have student well-being, school well-being, environment well-being, family well-being and community well-being; (2) to promote the school well-being according to the Buddhist principles is to follow the 4 principles of Bhavana; 1. Physical development, 2. Moral development, 3. Emotional meditation, and 4. Wisdom development, and 4) Evaluation.
3. The model for promoting school well-being according to Buddhist principles for schools under the Office of Primary Education Service Area 2 is appropriate and feasible to apply for the development of school administration. The knowledge obtained from the study can be concluded into a TEAMS Model.
