Abstract:
This research included the following objectives: 1) to study the components and conceptual framework of professional school administrators; 2) to study the current condition, the desirable condition, and the needs of professional school administrators of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools under the General Education Department Area 9; 3) to develop and assess the model of professional administrator development integrated with the Four Iddhipāda Dhammas. The study was divided into 3 phases: Phase 1, studying the components of professional school administrators from the related documents and research before being examined by seven experts, and the tools used were the component assessment forms. Phase 2, surveying the current condition, desirable condition, and the needs, the sampling group included 213 school administrators and teachers of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools under the General Education Department Area 9. The tools used were questionnaires, and the data were analyzed by studying Mean (x ̅), Standard Deviation (S.D.), and PNImodified. In phase 3, creating and assessing the model of professional administrators, the target group was 15 experts purposively selected to be interviewed for the development methods. The tools used were semi-structured interview forms, and the data were analyzed through content analysis. There were nine experts in the group discussion to create the development model for the professional school administrators based on the Four Iddhipāda Dhammas. In addition, the model was assessed by ten experts purposively selected, and the tools used were model assessment forms, and the data were analyzed by finding values of x ̅ and S.D.
The research findings were as follows:
1) The results of the synthesis of the components of professional school administrators revealed that there were four main components: (1) personality, (2) ethics and professional value, (3) professional knowledge, (4) professional competency, and 15 sub-components.
2) The overall findings of the current condition, the desirable condition, and the needs of professional school administrators based on the Four Iddhipāda Dhammas of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools under the General Education Department Area 9 revealed that the overall current condition was statistically rated at a high level. The component with the highest Mean was personality. The overall desirable condition was at a high level. The component with the highest Mean was ethics and professional value. When the needs were chronologically prioritized, they could be shown as follows: 1) professional knowledge; 2) professional competency; 3) professional value, and 4) personality.
3) Regarding the creation of the professional school administrator development model based on the Four Iddhipāda Dhammas, it included: Chanda, i.e., desire, satisfaction, willingness to perform duties; Viriya, i.e., continuous persistence in duties; Citta, i.e., attentiveness in the performance of duties consistently; and Vīmaṁsā, i.e., constantly checking, revising and improving. The model consisted of principles/concepts, objectives, content, and expected outcomes. The model assessment results revealed that the model had its appropriateness, possibility, and usefulness to use in actual development at the highest level.
