Abstract: This thesis was entitled “A Phonological Study of Chin Dialect Spoken in Hakha city, Chin State of Myanmar.” The objectives of this study were 1) to study segmental phonemes of Chin Dialect Spoken in Hakha city, Chin State of Myanmar, 2) to study the word phone system of Chin Dialect Spoken in Hakha city, Chin State of Myanmar and 3) to analyze sound system of Chin Dialect Spoken in Hakha city, Chin State of Myanmar. This was a qualitative research. The sample group was five informants and the sample group was obtained by purposive way to provide phonology. The tools were used books, informants, journals and thesis. The data analyses were Phonological word, syllable and assimilation. The result of the study was found that tones of the final syllable of statement caused to be falling and rising. Its verb system had two forms called primary and secondary. Regarding morphophonemic alternations, nasal alternation, stop alternation and final glottalizations in secondary stems were common. The structure of syllable was C1 (C3) (C4) V1 (C2). The phonological system was composed of ten consonant phonemes /p, t, k, m, n, ŋ, l, r, j, w/. There are eleven vowel phonemes, all vowels can be divided into two sets. There five single vowels as ⁄i, e, a, u, o/ and two glided vowels are /a, i, a, u⁄.There are four tones (1) high, (2) high, (3) mind and (4) low.
