Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the concept of happiness, 2) to explain beliefs toward community happiness, and 3) to analyze the principles of happiness for Thai Yoh people in Sanook Province group; Ban Phon in Nakhon Phanom, Ban Klang in Sakhon Nakhon and Ban Chareonsool in Mukdahan Province which conduced by qualitative research method, document analysis, and 15 key
informants interviewed
The results are as fallow Beliefs and Rules of the Yoh people in Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom provinces lead to happiness and connection in terms of beliefs of the three groups of the Yoh people. They have unique characteristics; such as the belief of domiciling near the river, having matchmaker in the society. Such beliefs lead to happiness, including well-being, especially the mind that adheres to tradition. Faith in traditions inspires cheerfulness. The crucial characteristics of the Yoh people are language and dress. Obeying the elders creates a system of cooperation in the activities of people in the community. The present characteristics of the tradition are the base of the community economy which is tourism. Therefore, the beliefs of the Yoh people are the base for creating happiness in the tribe.
