Abstract:
The objectives of this research are: i) to study the preparation for building security after retirement of police officers' families in Bangkok, ii) to study the components affecting the security of police officers' families in Bangkok, and iii) to synthesize the pattern of family security of police officers in Bangkok. The mixed method was conducted in this research. It consists of qualitative research with an interview form by interviewing 92 key informants, namely supervisors involved in welfare matters and police officers with the rank of Police Lieutenant Colonel down and aged 45 years and over are police officials who perform duties in Bangkok, Trat Provincial Police and the Pathum Thani Provincial Police and former police officers with the rank of Police Captain, who all had served in Bangkok and has retired as well as having discussions with a group of experts in the police who were former police commanders. For the Action Research part, it was fielded in real practice in professional trainings on computer repair, online selling products and cutting hair for police officers at Klong Luang Police Station, Pathum Thani Province. There were 26 police officers and 5 police officers' families attended the training. The collected qualitative data were analyzed by using content analysis and draw conclusions according to the interview form. As for the data collected in the focus group, content analysis and knowledge set collection in action research were used about computer repair, Online merchandising and haircut.
The results of the research found that:
1. Preparation for building security after retirement of police officers' families in Bangkok was noted that It consisted of preparation in 4 areas: 1) housing, 2) secure career after retirement, 3) economic and financial, and 4) physical health. Overall, it was found that police officers working in Bangkok were less prepared in every aspect than the police officers working in Trat and Pathum Thani Province.
2. Components affecting family security of police officers in Bangkok are found as follows: 1) an agency directly affiliated with the Royal Thai Police with a duty related to welfare and the Metropolitan Police Headquarters must jointly formulate strategic plans, concepts, policies as a guideline for conducting police officers for the benefit of the happiness of the police officers and their families. 2) For individual policeman, the police officers themselves must be diligent, know how to save, not extravagant, not intoxicated with drugs and know how to save money to spend when necessary, know how to adopt the principles of Buddhist teachings to practice for the prosperity of the family, make a plan to prepare for housing, secure career, saving money and maintaining good health, and 3) in the social aspect, police officers and their families must be active in society or community participation. This will bring about happiness, safety and the opportunity from the private sector to give advice or give them the opportunity to work for extra income after retirement.
3. The pattern of family security of police officers in Bangkok should be divided into 4 areas: 1) housing, it is the first and most important thing. Police officers should have their own residence before retirement. 2) Secure financial career after retirement, they should have a supplementary career while still serving in order to practice proficiency and keep it as a supplementary occupation to increase income for the family after retirement. 3) Saving money, they should plan on money spending each month. There should be some savings in different ways each month for retirement. 4) Physical health, It is extremely important. they should always take care of their health by exercising, eat nutritious food, get enough rest. If they have good health, Illness requiring hospitalization will be less and money for this expense will also be less. All members of their families will be happy.
