Abstract:
The purposes of this research are (1) to study the current condition of honesty value of family institution, (2) to analyze ways to promote honest values of family institution in accordance with Buddhist principle consistent with the context of Thai sodety, and (3) to
propose a model to promote honest values of family institution in accordance with the principle of Buddhism. The research methodology was the mixed method research, that the quantitative research used the questionnaire as the tool to collect the data in the field study from the representatives of 400 households in Ratchaburi province and analyzed the data
using software packages for sodal science research. Whereas the qualitative research used in -depth inteview with 8 key informants and focus group discussions with experts on specific random sampling, consisting of 8 people these are covering 4 related groups; Religious Organizations, Govemment Organizations, Educational Organizations and Local Organizations
and analyzed the data through the content analysis technique. The findings of this research were as following:
1. The honest values of family institution in general were at a high level with an average of 4.25. When considering in each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest mean was the forbearance of the adultery at the highest level, with a mean of 4.51.
The second was the high level of refrain from stealing, with an average of 4.41. The aspect with the least mean was the abstaining from lying, which was at the high level of 4.21.
2. The results of the analysis of the ways to enhanding honest values of family institution in accordance with Buddhist prindple consistent with the context of Thai sodiety found that (1) in refraining from kiluing animals include promoting public mental activities,
promoting activities to continually create harmony and unity, and promoting the establishment of the Fund for the Development of the Quality of Life for the Poor or the Underprivileged. (2) In the aspect of refrain from stealing, such as promating the lifestyle
according to the sufficiency economy philasophy continuously, promoting the development of household economy and supplementary careers, and monitoring and creating peaceful social immunity in accordance with the Buddhist way of life. (3) In the aspect of forbearance of the adultery such as creating a warm family immunity, promoting participation in joint
social activities of family members and promating family contests preserving the five precepts in order to honor the model family as social concrete. (4) In the aspect of abstaining from lying such as creating a beneficial environment for society, organizing social activities at the community level that promoted unity and peaceful coexistence, and promating analytical methods of using positive words. (5) Regarding the abstention af alcohd, indluding health insurance in the family by having a good behavior-based model, a social activity campaign that continuously encouraged communities to be free from vices and drugs, and establish a family club to maintain health and immunity from drugs.
3. The model to promote honest values of family institutions in accordance with Buddhism principles, found that the model suitable an and consistent with the current situation was a form of sodial relationship network called the "Family Faithful Network", a Buddhist
way that aimed to work between all the stakeholders at the local level from small to large scale by using the project to recancile according to the Buddhist principles, that was, the Village Keeping 5 Precepts Program as a base. In this regard, the "Family Faithful Network of Buddhist Ways" had a vision that was 'strengthening Buddhist values and honest ways of life'. The mission was 'promoting honest values for children and youth and supporting quality social activities . Moreaver, it had a primary missions which were (1) promating continuaus recondliation vith public mental activities (2) promoting living according to the suffiency economy philosophy and creating peaceful social. immunity (3) promoting wamm family immunity through the participation process (4) promoting the dissemination of knowledge, analytical thinking, and positive speech techniques, and (5) promoting the health
and immunity treatment of drugs with a warm famnily lifestyle.
