Implementation of the Vocational Education Development Plan B.E. 2560 2579 (2017-2036): Production and Development of Vocational Manpower to Enhance the Countrys Capability and Competitiveness, Institute of Vocational School in Bangkok
Abstract:
The purposes of study were: 1) to study the implementation of the vocational education development plan (B.E. 25602579, 20172036) with regards to production; and development of vocational manpower to optimize the countrys competitiveness; 2) to compare the implementation of the plans according to the different sizes of schools, and 3) to study the development guidelines at the policy and educational levels. Directors, deputy directors, and responsible teachers involved in college planning and projecting, totaling 68 people, were selected from 13 vocational colleges as population. The study was conducted through a questionnaire and a structured interview. Percentage, Mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Content Analysis were used to analyze the data. The research found that : 1) Implementation of the three strategies in the vocational education development plan B.E. 2560-2579 (2017-2036): Overall strategies were performed at a high level, with Strategy 1 performing at the highest level ( = 4.64), while Strategies 2 and 3 performed at high levels ( = 4.48 and ( = 4.81) respectively. 2) Comparison of the implementation of the vocational education development plan (B.E. 25602579, 20172036) according to the different sizes of the educational institutes: It was found that there was no difference in the implementation. 3) Guidelines for the implementation of the vocational education development plan B.E. 25602579 (20172036): The management of the schools should promote and support the implementation according to the specified goals. In addition, collaboration among all relevant sectors should be initiated to coordinate and implement the plans systematically
