Abstract:
This research aimed to study the efficiency of Internal Quality Assurance implementation of the School of Political and Social Science at the University of Phayao. Furthermore, it explored problems, obstacles, and solutions in conducting educational quality assurance procedures at the curriculum level. The research specifically focused on the academic staffs and the supporting staffs of the school. There were 41 respondents from 42 disseminated questionnaires. The amount represented 97.6 percent of the total population. The main research tool was the questionnaires. The statistics applied in the research; means and standard deviation, was conducted by the software package.Based on the Demming quality cycle (PDCA); planning (Plan), operational (Do), monitoring and evaluation (Check), and summary/improvement (Act), the results indicated that the efficiency of Internal Quality Assurance Implementation at the school have reached the high level in all aspects with the total mean of 3.58 The research also found that the planning stage is recommended to be reviewed.More systematical participatory improvement action plan both at the course level and the school level should be conducted. The operators at all levels should be trained to maintain the recent level of knowledge on the AUN-QA standard. Establishing a clear mutual operating calendar via electronic information database was also suggested. Besides, the transparent and verifiable systems should have become the stronger mechanisms for the school. Lastly,all collected information throughout the annual review should be considered for the planning loop of analysis to benefit the next year's quality assurance."
