Abstract:
This study aimed to diagnose the current condition of information systems which currently used in research administration and laboratories segment, School of Dentistry, University of Phayao to develop new information systems for research administration and laboratories. Then, assessed the suitability of the new information systems and the satisfaction of personnel and students whom are the users for this information systems about research administration and laboratories. Researchers collected data and problems from current condition and used the current technology to developed and implemented new information systems for research administration and laboratories in the online platform through School of Dentistry web page. The developed information systems were assessed the suitability of the system by experts and assessed the satisfaction of personnel and students of School of Dentistry with the assessment tools which were 5-level estimation questionnaires and also by the interview response of users. The data were analyzed and reported as overall satisfaction mean and standard deviation.The results showed the current condition that the segment currently managed the data storage in the form of documents for the most part which affected the delay of data storage, the information cannot be updated immediately, delayed retrieval and the reporting officers could not report the information immediately as needed. The documentations could waste theresources and may easily effect by human errors during data storage from each individual. The overall suitability of the system by expert opinions was at the excellent level (µ = 4.82, = 0.28) and the overall satisfaction by users was at a good level (x̅ = 4.28, S.D. = 0.04). The interview found that the information system was easy to use. The information was well organized into categories which was easy to reach and reduced time consuming from several workflows due to the easily in categorized and storage, less time consuming for the staff to search and analyze, leading to the more accuracy of the report. The data were available online by either computer or mobile phones which is convenient and useful to be used.""
