Abstract:
This research is to study about guidelines for potential development of human resources in
tourism industry of the student, graduate, academic and entrepreneur. This study aims to
finding guidelines for potential development of human resources in tourism industry and
using mixed method both quantitative and qualitative method. The 441 samples in this
survey research are students, academic of Tourism Department and the entrepreneur of
tourism where students have been trained professional experience. The tools descriptive
in this study were questionnaires. We used analyzed data from the questionnaires by using
descriptive statistics method to find mean frequency percentage and standard deviation.
The result found that the most of samples agree with the tourism students should be
improving on all part of potential especially in morality and ethical such as sacrifice,
modesty, punctually, palitelty and code of conduct on career. The knowledge such as tourism
situation and general knowledge. The intelligence skills such as analytical ability,
interpersonal relationship and respondsibility especially on work accountability, teamwork,
numerical analysis and communication technology. Therefore the resulted of this research
suggestion for potential development of human resources in tourism industry such as
cultivate the sacrifices, modesty, punctually and code of conduct career should be promote
to gain general knowledge, training professional experience, development skill on analysis
processing, apply other innovations and support the respondsibility and teamwork including
improved language and information technology.
