Abstract:
Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) of homogeneously dispersed poly(lactic acid)
(PLA) in natural rubber (NR) were prepared through a melt blending in an internal mixer.
The weight ratio of PLA/NR was 30/70. To enhance the durability, NR was dynamic
vulcanized by sulfur system. The effect of sulfur content (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 phr) on
mechanical properties (hardness and tensile properties), and morphology of the TPVs were
investigated. The elongation at break and hardness of the TPVs increased with increasing
sulfur content
