Abstract:
This research aimed to illustrate and explain the researchers experience regarding the beginning of counseling psychologist in my life context through self-development in accordance with the Rogers 3 core conditions. The qualitative research design employed auto-ethnography by means of narrating mine self-development experience and the reflection of 33 my familiar persons both before my master degree study and before my master degree graduation in counseling psychology. The results of my self-development experience revealed that: 1. To be a counseling psychologist, self-development and self-observation were necessary in accordance with Rogers 3 core conditions: congruence, unconditional positive regard, and empathy. 2. Counseling psychologist should deeply understand his life through the direct experience. 3. During self-development and self-observation, the reflection of my familiar persons revealed the negative direction which signal the positive self-acceptance of mine.
