Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the status of a Community Learning Center in Na-O sub-district, Muang district, Loei province, 2) to find out the way to develop the learning center, 3) to design the community learning center model,4) to develop the learning center, and 5) to evaluate the designed learning center model for Loei province. Stakeholders of the learning center in Na-O sub-district, Muangdistrict, Loei province were purposively selected as research samples. Qualitative re-search method was applied for collecting. An in-depth interview, a focus group and a participatory brain-storming meeting were used as research instruments. On the other hand, a quantitative research method was also implemented and a questionnaire was employed. Mean, Percentage and Standard Deviation were used as research statistics for analyzing data. The results of the research were as follows.1. For general information, Na-O sub-district, Muang district, Loei province is an old district existed since the ancient time. The people in Na-O sub-district are inhanbitats of Vienteine and Luang Phra Bang of Laos. the majority of people living in Na-O community are agriculturists. There is the important community learning center located in Wat Si Jan or Si Jan Temple in Na-O sub-district, Muang district, Leoi Prov-ince. It is Prapasjantachot Museum. However, there is no certain organization system for exhibiting. The place is not kept clean by the people in the village; therefore, the museum is not widely known. 2. There are some guidelines for developing the learning center in Loeiprovince suggested by communities. Firstly, the community needs to establish a reg-istration system for displaying appliances, reading corner. The information regarding the historical background of the temple and the museum are also needed, and the communities should participate in taking care of the museum. 3. For the design of developing model for community learning center, the commu-nities need to create the books containing information of historical backgrounds of Na-O Village, the temple and the museum. The communities recommended that the museum should have a registration system for collections to be displayed for visitors as well as nametags on the collections exhibited at the museum, the notice board showing the rules for visitors, a book corner and activities to promote reading inside the museum. Moreover, there should be a training course of English for tourism, the demonstration of using ancient appliances in the past, and an arrangement of collec-tions into appropriate categories. 4. The development of the community learning center model focuses on organizing the museum more systematic. The collections displayed at the museum are reorganized by tagging their names and putting them into categories of Buddha Images, household appliances, agricultural tools, weaving tools and clothes and cos-tumes. There is a book corner within the museum, and brochures for promoting and publicizing information. 5. The level of communities satisfaction on the development of the learning community in Loei province was at high level. The communities were satisfied with the aspect of museum building the highest. The communities satisfaction on the aspect of budget was at high level. On the other hand, the communities satisfaction on the aspect of communication participation was at the lowest level.
