Abstract:
The Secondary Education Service Area Office 18's development of bullying
indicators in student at schools aimed to develop factors of school bullying among
students, develop indicators of school bullying, and examine the construct validity of
school bullying among students there. The sample included 1067 students from
grades 1 to 6 from the Office of Secondary Education Area 18 in Chonburi and
Rayong Provinces, with a total of 8 schools. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor
analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis were employed in statistical analysis.
The results revealed that school bullying among students under the
Secondary Education Area Office 18 had 12 indicators. The first factor is verbal
bullying, which had five indicators: I like to tattle about other friends, I like to make
fun of my friends when they make mistakes, I like to make fun of other students'
names, I like to ridicule the names of my friends' parents, and I like to hit my friends
lightly because it's fun. The second factor is social bullying, which has four indicators:
I like it when friends break up, I like it when my friends feel bad and leave the group,
I like it when my friends argue, and I like to encourage my friends to argue. The third
factor, physical bullying consisted of three indicators: I will hurt my friend if they
make me angry, I slap or kick other students, and I like to slap my weaker friends.
The results of examining the construct validity of the factors of school bullying with
empirical data revealed that the Chi-squared = 58.48, df = 44, p= .07, GFI= 0.99, AGFI
= 0.99 and RMSEA= 0.01. These indices exhibited that school bullying had a good
construct validity with empirical data.
