Effects of Using Learning Activity Packages Entitled "I - Nao" by Using Five-step Ladder Learning Together with RCA Question Asking Techniques towards Learning Achievement and Analytical Thinking Abilities for Matthayomsuksa 4 Students
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the efficiency of the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao" by using Five step Ladder Learning together with RCA question asking techniques for Matthayomsuksa 4 students to meet the criteria set of 80/80; 2) to compare the learning achievement of students between before and after learning through the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao"; 3) to compare the analytical thinking abilities of students between before and after learning through the learning activity packages entitled "I- Nao"; and 4) to explore the student's satisfaction towards learning through the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao". The samples were 40 students of Matthayomsuksa 4/3 of Prakhonchaipitthayakom School, Prakhonchai District, Buriram Province. They were selected by using cluster random sampling technique based on using the classrooms with mixed abilities as the sampling units. The research instruments were: 1) 5 learning activity packages entitled "I-Nao"; 2) 5 lesson plans of the learning activity packages entitled "I- Nao"; 3) a 30-item achievement test relevant to the learning activity packages entitled "I-Nao" which comprised 4 multiple -choices with the difficulty between 0.55 -0.65, the discrimination between 0.40 -0.60 and the reliability value at 0.853; 4) a 30- item analytical thinking abilities test relevant to the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao" which comprised 4 multiple - choices with the difficulty between 0.55 0.65, the discrimination between 0.40 -0.60 and the reliability value at 0.847; and 5) a 15- item rating scale questionnaire asking student's satisfaction towards the learning activity packages entitled "I- Nao". The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and E,/E₂. The hypotheses were tested by using the dependent sample t-test.
The results of the study were as follows:
1. The efficiency of the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao" by using Five - step Ladder Learning together with RCA question asking techniques for Matthayomsuksa 4 students was 86.85/85.08 which was higher than the criteria set of 80/80.
2. The learning achievement of students after learning by using the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao" by using Five-step Ladder Learning together with RCA question asking techniques for Matthayomsuksa 4 students was higher than that before learning by using the activity packages with statistically significant difference at .05 level.
3. The analytical thinking abilities of students after learning by using the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao" by using Five-step Ladder Learning together with RCA question asking techniques for Matthayomsuksa 4 students was higher than that before learning by using the activity packages with statistically significant difference at .05 level.
4. The satisfaction of the students towards learning management by using the learning activity packages entitled "I - Nao" by using Five-step Ladder Learning together with RCA question asking techniques for Matthayomsuksa 4 students as a whole was at the highest level.
